OK, the fun part. You’ve picked your goals. Usually, at this point you feel like you have this giant, insurmountable to-do. You feel overwhelmed and defeated before you even get started.
No more! All you need to ask of yourself is to spend just 10 minutes a day on each of these goals. You can get up early and do it, or you can do it just before you turn in for the night. But you’ll probably find that you can sneak it in throughout your day. The kids have a moment of peaceful play – don’t check email or load the dishwasher. Instead, take this time for your goals — go online to research college savings plans, or piano lessons at the recreation center, or vacation deals for that girls’ weekend or family vacation.
For each of your goals, jot down in your notebook one thing you’ll do on your goal today, and one tomorrow. If the goal is “organize the photos”, today’s step could be as easy as “Set up the card table”. If the goal is “save for college”, today’s step may be “Find the investments folder”.
So grab your notebook and under your Vision Statement for each Goal (from Steps 1 and 2), write today’s date on one line, and tomorrow’s date on the next line and jot down one thing you’ll do each day. Add a line every day.
